Haley Residential Response to COVID-19

**5/20/2020 Update**

Haley Residential continues to monitor the latest news in regard to COVID-19.

We realize as the weather becomes warm, many residents have questions on when amenities like pools will be opened.  It’s with great difficulty we have decided to keep amenities closed for the time being as we continue to monitor national and local safety standards to ensure the safety of our residents, vendors and employees.  We will open as soon as we can safely do so.

Thank you for your understanding as your families continue to stay safe.

Haley Residential continues to monitor state guidelines on business openings related to Covid-19, but will keep amenities closed through at least the end of April in order to protect the health, safety and well-being of our staff and residents.  We will operate on a restrictive basis as we have over the past several weeks.  This is a fluid situation and we will continue to update everyone on operational changes as they occur.

Thank you for your understanding.  We are thinking of you during this time and hope that you and your families continue to stay safe.

Many of us are staying home/sheltering in place if able, in order to “flatten the curve”.  With this in mind, we wanted to share some at-home safety tips and friendly reminders to to keep your family safe.

  • Never leave cooking unattended, always keep the stove in sight.
  • Observe community smoking rules. Don’t discard cigarette butts off your balcony.
  • While you may have many devices charging, don’t overload a single electrical outlet with extension cords or multi-plug adapters.
  • If your apartment is equipped with a wood-burning fireplace, only burn wood or approved fireplace logs.
  • Abide by community rules when using barbecues.  Remember, never barbecue inside!
  • Don’t dispose of hot coals or ashes in the trash.
  • You might be receiving more packages lately, be fire safe and keep these boxes away from stoves and heaters.
  • Don’t disable any smoke or carbon monoxide detectors.
  • Never leave candles unattended.
  • Clean out your dryer lint every time.
  • Use of fire pits or gas-fired heaters on patios is prohibited.
  • If you use a space heater, follow manufacturer’s instructions.
  • It’s springtime and we might have severe storms, make sure to close your windows and patio doors.
  • Be kind to your plumbing during this time when you’re home.
    • Don’t dump pan grease down the sink, instead, drain it into a container, let it solidify in the fridge, and throw it out with your trash.
    • You may be using more disinfecting wipes, don’t flush them down the toilet, throw them out in the trash.
    • Don’t overload toilets with tissues and toilet paper.

Thank you everyone!  We appreciate our residents, and give a special thanks to both essential workers and healthcare workers that are tirelessly working in these times for us all!

**3/30/2020 Update**

This crisis is testing all of us. We know that many families are facing financial pressures as businesses have been forced to scale back or close. We’re committed to helping our residents during these trying times to ensure that no one loses the roof over their head if they’re financially impacted by this pandemic.

WE’RE HERE TO HELP: If you have suffered financially because of the outbreak, please contact your property manager. We are all in this together. We are committed to working with our residents, willing to create payment plans and waiving late fees for those directly impacted. We also know that many of you are working from home. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make this transition smoother.

WE NEED YOUR HELP: Following CDC guidelines we are actively working to practice social distancing. If you need to reach us, please contact your local leasing office via email or phone. If you or someone in your household has been tested and diagnosed as having Covid-19, please notify us electronically. Your personal information will be protected, but we want to help protect our employees and your neighbors by advising them of a tested and positive diagnosis in your building. Again, we will not identify the unit or the individual(s) by name.

RESOURCES: We encourage you to identify resources offered by federal, state and local governments – as well as community organizations – to help you secure financial assistance, food and healthcare. To that end, the federal government is committed to providing significant resources to support those affected by the crisis. This includes an extension of unemployment benefits, direct payments to Americans and assistance to select industries to get people back to work. We hope that these support mechanisms will help make your household finances work. Helpful resources from the CDC can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

It’s important to know that eviction moratoriums that have been put in place does not relieve residents of paying their rent or complying with their lease. Again, we are committed to helping those directly impacted by the pandemic. For those of you not financially impacted by the pandemic, it is critical that timely rent payments continue so we can continue to pay our employees, maintain the cleanliness and safety of our community and meet our other financial obligations like tax and insurance payments.

For now, we are heartened by the stories of neighbors helping one another – from grocery shopping to checking in on each other. Communities working together to stay safe is what will get us through this crisis, and we are here for you. The steps we’re taking will safeguard this community and we appreciate your willingness to help.

We hope you, your family and friends are well. We wanted to take a moment to address rent payments. As the nation continues to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic many businesses have been adversely affected by being forced to close or reduce hours of operations. We have received reports from residents of reduced hours, lay-offs or lost jobs.

If you end up in this group, we want to work with you and do everything we can within reason to keep you as our valued resident. In an effort to work with you, we have established the following guidelines:

For those valued residents who provide proof of loss of employment/income and inability to pay:

  • We would enter into a payment arrangement.
  • We would ask that you pay as much as you can toward your rent until unemployment benefits, Government assistance or reemployment enables you to get caught up.

Stay safe, work with us, keep us informed. We’ll get through this together. As we continue to work through the Covid-19 outbreak and provide you with service, we ask that you help us practice social distancing by contacting your apartment leasing office by phone or email.

Thank you,

Haley Residential Staff

As Haley Residential continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and look for ways to eliminate the possible spread of the virus, we have made the following policy changes:

The leasing office will be open, however, we will be operating by phone and email only until further notice.  The office will still be open to retrieve packages and to pay rent.

As we follow recommended local, state and federal guidelines to limit exposure, access to the office and recreational facilities (fitness centers, pools, business centers, etc.), will be restricted.

Haley Residential continues to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak and look for ways to eliminate the possible spread of the virus. Effective immediately, amenities like fitness centers, business centers, public restrooms and pools (if open already), will be closed.

As stated previously, our highest priority is the health and well-being of our residents and team members. This added measure serves to help keep everyone safe.

Haley Residential’s highest priority is the health and well-being of our residents and team members. As we continue to monitor community and national updates on the COVID-19 virus, we will be implementing the following precautions:

  • Every effort will be made to make disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer available in common areas.
  • Apartment community staff will institute enhanced cleaning procedures at increased intervals, including wiping down high-touch surfaces.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that COVID-19 is spread “between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).” The center recommends the following:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Stay home and avoid contact with other sick people.
  • Routinely clean and disinfect all frequently touched surfaces.
  • If soap and water are unavailable, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover mouth with a tissue or sleeve, not your hand, when you cough or sneeze.
  • Practice social distancing (avoid large gatherings and events).

For more information, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.

If you find yourself under quarantine, we suggest letting the leasing office know, so that additional health safety steps may be taken to reduce risk to our team members.

Please note that due to community closures and infrastructure, staffing may vary and/or be reduced. We ask for your patience as we work hard to prioritize tasks and projects. In addition, please take advantage of the online resident portal or RENTCafe Resident app, which will also help to further reduce close contact. This app allows you to do the following:

  • Communicate electronically
  • Enter work order requests
  • Submit electronic payments
