Orchid Tastes on a Daisy Budget? Create a Stunning Bouquet for Next to Nothing

Few things dress up an apartment more than an attractively positioned bouquet of fresh flowers — but professional floral arrangements can drain the wallet. Fortunately, there are ways that you can get that same crafted look without the associated price tag. Check out these tips about flower arranging on a budget!

Forget the florist shop! Florist shops typically employ highly skilled floral designers who know how to craft flawless arrangements, and you’re paying for that talent when you purchase flowers from a florist. Instead, head to the Supermarket! Buying bunches of flowers from the supermarket is far more cost-effective than purchasing them from a florist. These bunches typically aren’t finished bouquets, so it’ll take some work to make them look good in a vase. You may have to purchase separate baby’s breath and greenery for filler for a pulled-together look. Bouquets look unfinished without these.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Separate the flowers on a flat surface, remove any brown leaves or stems.
  2. Choose the largest as foundational flowers, place them in the vase first.
  3. Build the bouquet around the foundational flowers.
  4. Alternate secondary flowers with greenery or baby’s breath.
  5. Tie a bow around the vase and place your bouquet in a visible location.

The key to making this simple bouquet is to create an upside-down pyramid. It may take a couple of tries to get it just right, but you’ll be glad you put in the effort. Before you know it, you’ll be designing much more elaborate arrangements that everyone will think came from an upscale florist shop.
